Today we went to the historic town of Cambridge!
(This was not the weather, unfortunately.)
We took the coach to Cambridge in the morning for a day trip. After seeing the sights and buying some souvenirs, we headed back to school. At Haileybury UK, we presented our KAZAKH ORCHESTRA to a British audience. They were fascinated with our instruments and with our Kazakh pieces. We also watched Haileybury UK children play their instruments.
Aizere tried the European zhetigen (the harp) and Anna the harpist tried Aizere's instrument.
The children were fantastic and played really beautifully. Well done!
Tomorrow, we will repeat our programme in All Saints Church, Hertford at 1300. If you are near, come and listen!
Below are some pictures of our day!
We met outside King's Chapel and had a look around. Did you know: it is over 500 years old!
We went on traditional Cambridge boats called 'punts'. They had blankets for everyone, don't worry...
...and umbrellas for the glorious British weather!
Back at school, we warmed up with some hot chocolate.
Then, after rehearsals, we played football against Haileybury UK. Abylay assures me that the score was 6-4 to Astana!
More to follow tomorrow...
